St John’s Hall

St John’s Hall is a large, bright and well-ventilated hall adjacent to the church in a central village position. It is our desire that it should be used and enjoyed by the whole community of Stansted Mountfitchet.

It has recently been refurbished and now has a new multi-use toilet, easily accessible from the main hall, and improved kitchen facilities. 

The main hall measures approximately 7 metres by 13 metres and has a high ceiling, allowing use for sporting activities. 

A small carpeted meeting room leads off the main hall and a large store room has tables and chairs for use in the hall. Arrangements can be made for the storage of some equipment for regular hall users.

The newly refurbished kitchen has a new electric cooker and microwave oven for heating food and a large urn for boiling water.

The entrance lobby has separate ladies and gents toilets, both with baby changing facilities, and hooks for coats.

Over the years the hall has been used for a wide range of activities for all ages and current uses include parties, U3A meetings, yoga, karate, Pilates, tap dancing, toddler exercise and music classes, small band practices, art lessons and various church activities such as a Christmas market and Messy Church.
